People often ask what inspired me to write my first book. The truth is, it wasn't just one moment, it was years of experiences, heartbreak, healing, and rediscovering parts of myself that I thought I'd lost.

I've always been a creative soul.

As a child, my imagination never stopped. I loved creating, dreaming, and finding ways to express myself. But somewhere along the way, trauma, difficult relationships, and life slowly quieted that part of me. For a long time, survival became more important than creativity. I stopped making space for the things that once made me feel alive.

Then something changed.

I became a mom.

Holding my son for the first time awakened something in me that I can't fully explain. It reminded me that life isn't only about surviving, it's also about building, creating, and leaving behind something meaningful.

I wanted to create something that would outlive me.

Not just a book, but a piece of my heart.

I want my son to grow up knowing that his mom tried. That she dreamed. That she refused to let her past define the rest of her story. More than anyone else's approval, I hope one day he'll read my work and be proud of the woman I chose to become.

Even writing these words brings tears to my eyes.

There's something incredibly vulnerable about sharing your story with the world. You're handing strangers pieces of yourself and hoping they'll understand. It's terrifying, but it's also freeing.

Before the Next Chapter isn't just a memoir. It's the beginning of a conversation. It's proof that healing doesn't happen overnight and that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is tell the truth.

And honestly, this is only the beginning.

My second book carries just as much weight, if not more. Each page I write feels like another step toward healing... not only for myself, but hopefully for someone else who needs to know they aren't alone.

My books are more than stories.

They're the gateway to my heart.

Thank you for reading, for supporting my journey, and for allowing me to share these chapters of my life with you. I truly hope that somewhere within these pages, you find a piece of your own story too.

With Love,

— Jazzmyne

Author of Before the Next Chapter: Surviving in the Spaces That Tried to Break Me

Every story begins somewhere.

For me, writing began as a way to heal.

When I first started putting my experiences onto paper, I wasn't thinking about becoming an author. I was simply trying to give myself a place to release the emotions, memories, and lessons I had carried for so long. Writing became my safe space—a place where I could process my past, reconnect with my voice, and begin understanding the person I was becoming.

That healing journey became my first two memoirs: Before the Next Chapter: Surviving in the Spaces That Tried to Break Me and The Next Chapter: The Girl Who Stayed. The Woman Who Left.

These books are deeply personal pieces of my story. They represent chapters of my life that shaped me, challenged me, and ultimately transformed me. Sharing them with the world was not always easy, but I realized that my story was bigger than just me. What started as my personal healing journey became an opportunity to connect with others who may have experienced their own moments of struggle, change, and rebuilding.

My memoirs are also an introduction to who I am as a writer. Before readers step into the worlds I create in my future books, I wanted them to have the opportunity to meet the woman behind the words—to understand the experiences, emotions, and passion that influence my storytelling.

As I continue growing as an author, I am also building something bigger than books. I want to create a community. A place where readers feel welcomed, inspired, and connected. A safe space where we can talk about stories, creativity, healing, growth, and all the chapters that make us who we are.

My dream is not only to become a better author, but to build genuine relationships with the people who support my work. I want readers to feel like they are part of this journey with me—not just purchasing a book, but becoming part of a community built on honesty, imagination, and connection.

As I continue writing across different genres, including my upcoming dark fantasy romance novel, one thing will always remain the same: my commitment to creating stories that make people feel something.

Thank you for joining me at the beginning of this journey.

Thank you for reading my words, supporting my dreams, and becoming part of my next chapter.

Welcome to my world.
